Homosexuality is a inflamed topic in the Secular News, the State & Federal courts, and the Church. Let's take a moment to look at what the Bible says about Homosexuality. The Bible says that Homosexual Behavior is a sin. However, in Romans 3:23 the Bible states: "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God". Since all have sinned and are guilty before the Holy God, what makes Homosexual Behavior such an inflamed topic? Could it be that this behavior is an indication of the moral decay within a society that looks upon itself as "righteous"? Could it be that this behavior seeks to corrupt the institution of marriage and family which is the bedrock of this nation? The answer to these questions about Homosexual Behavior will be examined as this page is developed.
The Bible states in Romans 3:10-18 "There is none that are righteous, not even one. There are none that seek after God. There is no fear of God before their eyes". At the conclusion of Ecclesiastics 12: 13-14 , Solomon writes: "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is the whole duty of man (the full, original purpose of his creation, the object of God's providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, the adjustment to all inharmonious circumstances and conditions under the sun). For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil".
Proverbs 1:7 states: "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction". Proverbs 3:13 states: "Happy is the man that finds wisdom, and the man that gets understanding".
The Homosexual behavior has been called the "Gay Lifestyle". This seems to be an attempt to lure individuals into a belief that the "gay" behavior will bring them happiness. However, I have yet to meet a "gay" person that is truly happy let alone joyful. If you know of any "joyful gays" then send me an email and I would like to seek to understand the source of their joy.
So, how does a person have joy and happiness?
It seems that they must have a "fear of the LORD" and this will lead to finding the wisdom that comes from God.
So, what is "fear of the LORD"?
It is the ability to understand your position before God as a sinner in need of a savior. Since God alone is Holy, then only God can be your savior. So, you now say: "I am a believer or I have now become a believer". Thus, how do I get the wisdom that will give me happiness and joy. Well my friend, you already have this wisdom if you have faith alone - belief alone in the person of Jesus Christ as your savior. All you have to do now is seek Him in his written word, the Bible.
You are now thinking, "Since I am a beliver in Jesus Christ alone as my savior and I want to know his Word (the Bible) then which Bible is the right Bible to study?" If this is your question then you must now seek the answer from God. God has given us History (His Story) as a record of what has occured in the formation of the Bible. After you have read the articles on the formation of the Bible, you will have an understanding of which Bible God would have you to use in your study of His Word.
Since you are now a believer in Jesus Christ alone as your savior and you have chosen a Bible according to God's wisdom then you need to know what the Bible says about meeting with other believers.
Hebrews 10:24-25 states, "Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching". So, you are not to be a "lone-ranger" type of Christian. Rather, you are to join with other believers in studying the Word of God (the Bible), singing hymns and spiritual songs in thanksgiving and praise to Him who has saved you and appointed you to be one of His ambassadors to the world.
Once again you are faced with a decision.
Do you go to a church that your family attends?
Do you go to a church that your friends attend?
Do you go to a church that has a lot of programs designed for growth and
entertainment?
Where do you go?
Good Question!
The answer is you seek wisdom from God in his Word (the Bible). Why do you do this, well for several reasons. If you choose a church apart from God's wisdom you may get caught in a "Christian Cult - A church that has chosen to teach doctrines that are not found in the Bible".
There are many "traditional churches", "evangelical churches", and other "christian fellowships" to choose from. However, there are certain Doctrines that MUST BE adhered to to be a Church that is worthy of your participation. One "rule" to follow is that the "church leadership and membership" needs to believe in the Verbal Plenary Inspiration of the Bible.

You may ask, "What difference does it make if I attend a church or fellowship that does not believe in the Verbal Plenary Inspiration of the Bible?" Well, for one thing you might become part of a "Jefferson Bible Church".
You now are asking, "What is a Jefferson Bible Church?" A "Jefferson Bible Church" is a name that I have composed to represent a church that uses the Bible in its teachings like Thomas Jefferson used his Bible. Jefferson read the Bible and if he came to a part that he didn't like then he would just cut it out of his Bible.
Thus, Jefferson was able to compile a Bible that suited his mindset. His mindset and God's mindset were not the same for the Bible states in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work".
Even tough Jefferson was a brilliant man who help compose the documents that founded our nation, he was subject to the human biases of his sinful nature. Perhaps this is why while writing these famous words in the Declaration of Independence, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness".
Jefferson did not hold to the belief that slaves were part of "mankind". Rather, slaves were property to be bought, breed, used, traded, sold, or even punished or killed if they did not adhere to his standards. Jefferson stands as an example of a brilliant man whose mind was deluded because of his own biases against the whole of scripture found in the Word of God (the Bible).
Doctrines are an important part of the Christian Faith. They are like spinach, in that they are sometimes hard to swallow but they will make you strong in body, soul, and spirit. Click Here to view a list of some of the most important doctrines of the Christian Faith.
So, let's say that you have progressed through the previous readings and links and you still have questions about Homosexuality?
The bottom line is: There is NO PERFECT CHURCH for the Church is full of saved sinners which only will be made perfect when the Lord Jesus Christ returns for his people. So, take joy in the Lord alone, seek His wisdom, and give thanks to Him in all things. Three more scriptures for now.
1 Peter 2:11-12 states: "abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation".
You can do this because of the might, power, and grace of God found in Jesus Christ alone. When you receive Jesus Christ alone as your personal savior He gives you spiritual graces.
Scripture states in 2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new". And in Galatians 5:22-23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law".
