The "Big One" is Waiting
|
Have you experienced the
thrill of catching the "Big One"?
If so, then you are one of very few.
My Dad taught me how to fish when I was 8 years old. I still remember going to the Old Lake Dallas Resevior and tight-lining for Crappie, trolling for Black Bass, and setting out Trout Lines for Catfish. When I was 12, my Dad opened a fishing camp on Lake Grapevine in North Texas. He broght in 4 mobile homes as housing, built a fishing store (with groceries, live bait, and other fishing supplies). He did some guide service and I was his assistant. My duties as an "assistant guide" included: scouting the coves on the North side of the lake. While scouting the coves, I found many streams that held many varities of fish. I would set out bank lines and come back the next day and remove the Catfish and Bass. During my search for good fishing spots, I would come across ponds that were adjacent to the lake. Many of these ponds were stocked with Bass, Perch, and Catfish. Many were over-stocked in that they had not received much if any fishing pressure. With the owners permission, I would fish the ponds and then set out baited traps to removed the excess Perch since they seemed to be the major influence on limiting the Bass and Catfish population due to their great capacity to multiply and eat much of the food source.
When I was 13, my Dad bought a fishing boat for me to use for scouting the lake and taking clients on fishing trips. The clients were amazed at my success at guiding them to catch their fish of preference. One client wanted to catch Carp. I knew just the place, an old gravel road that went into the lake and dropped off into a submerged creek. I would make my own Carp bait from a mixture of Wheaties and Honey. We caught many Carp with five of them going over 15lbs. Needless to say, "I got a big tip -- $$".
My Dad sold the fishing camp the next Summer but my two years of fishing and guiding set a pattern for my continued interest in fishing. Part of my success during the years at the fishing camp was my learning to read and understand the movements of the fish during the daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal feeding cycles. This understanding was due in part to my exploring the lake and the ponds but the main reason was the Farmers Almanac which featured the daily moon and sun cycles.
In 2006, I found a fishing resource that allows me to get up-to-date information on the daily, weekly, and monthly Prime Fishing Times. I bought the CD and installed the program on both my desktop and laptop computers. The program does all the work that I used to do manually.
You factor in the 5 main factors:
Time Zone, Longitude & Latitude (with helps to determine your location), Daylight
Savings Time Settings, your Quarry (from Largemouth Bass to Saltwater Fishing with
additional Quarries such as Deer, Turkey, etc.), and Fishing Depth.
Another page then loads which allows you to Fine Tune your information and includes: Water temperature, weather History, Sky, Wind, and Water Clarity. When the fine tuning information is posted, you hit done and you get the results which include the BEST PRIME TIMES to fish for the particular day (24 hour day).
You can also search for overall patterns (times) throughout the months of the year. You can also advance the page to a particular date (past and future) and then fine tune the day to get information for the particular day. This is very helpful for you to plan fishing trips to your regular lake or to a lake in another part of the country.
When you purchase the first CD (it is good for the entire year), you will also be entitled to purchase the next year's CD at a discount price since you will be a returning member of Prime Times. The $25.00 investment will save you much time and any frustration in your fishing activities.

I continue to be amazed at the accuracy of the Prime Times Fishing Forecaster because
it even is accurate "To The Minute".
There have been numerous times where I was early and the fish did not start biting until the given time. It's like the dinner bell rang and it was time to eat.
I usually fish with crank baits, plastic worms, and spinner baits. There are times when a Precise presentation will attrack a bass but they are not really considered "active".
The most amazing aspect is the live bait fishing mode. When I fish Canadian Nightcrawlers, I can usually count on catching my limit but with "Prime Times" the "Big One's" come out to eat.
You will be most pleased with the purchase of the "Prime Times CD".

Through my years of fishing, I have found ONE artifical bait that ALWAYS catches fish. This bait is the 3/8oz H & H Single Spinner Bait. It can be used as a regular spinner bait, a topwater bait, a jig bait, and when rigged with a grub or worm tail it can trigger a most violent attact.
Here is a picture of the 3/8oz and 1/16oz Yellow Spinner
